The incident occurred in Shelton around 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 26 on Meghan Court.
According to the fire department, Shelton firefighters arrived on the scene and found the worker stuck 40 feet up a tree.
Members attempted to reach the man using ground ladders but were unsuccessful, the department said.
Additional members began constructing rope systems to gain access to the man, while others attempted to reach him with a fire truck.
After a short while, they were able to reach the patient with the truck, remove him from his harness, and place him in a stoked basket for removal, the department said.
The department said emergency care was rendered while he was being lowered to the ground. Once on the ground, Echo Hose Ambulance personnel continued working on the patient and transported him to a local trauma facility for additional care.
